It had been six months since Zara and Malik said “I do” for real. Their love story had gone from a lie to something so deep, so true, it scared her sometimes.
Zara’s business was booming, her designs trending online, and Malik had quit his job to help her full-time. They worked together, laughed together, kissed like the world might end tomorrow.
But then, she showed up.
Her name was Nadia. Malik’s ex. The one in the photo. The one Zara thought he was over.
She walked into the boutique like a customer, tall, beautiful, and smiling like she owned the world.
“I’m here for the bridal collection,” Nadia said sweetly. “I’m getting married.”
Zara forced a smile. “Congratulations.”
Nadia leaned in and whispered, “I always get what I want. And I want Malik back.”
Zara froze.
That night, Malik found her crying in the studio.
“I didn’t think it mattered,” he replied.
“She said she still wants you.”
He looked her dead in the eyes. “I already chose you.”
But Zara couldn’t shake the fear. What if love wasn’t enough to fight off someone like Nadia?
Two weeks later, Zara opened her boutique and found a red envelope on the counter. No name. No stamp.
Inside was a photo.
Malik and Nadia—hugging. Smiling.
A note written in red ink:
“He still loves me. He just doesn’t know it yet.”
Zara stared at the photo, hands trembling. Was it real? Was it old? Was she being played?
That night, she didn’t go home.
She booked a cheap hotel and shut off her phone. She needed to think. Was she fighting for something already lost?
But as she sat on the bed, there was a knock at the door.
Inside: all the love letters he’d written to her but never sent.
“I don’t care what she says,” he said. “You’re the only one I write about. The only one I lose sleep over. The only one I love.”
Zara burst into tears. “She’s trying to ruin us.”
“Then let her try,” he whispered. “We’re not fake anymore. And we don’t break easy.”
