π Eid Mubarak, dear readers!
As we celebrate this holy day of sacrifice, let us reflect not just on what we give, but how we give. Here’s a heart-touching tale that will make you think twice about pride, kindness, and the true meaning of Eid.
π The Cow That Changed a Heart
In the peaceful village of Kizingo, lived a wealthy butcher named Bwana Shoka. His name was known across town — not for kindness, but for his pride.
He owned everything: lands, a booming meat business, and the largest, most admired bull in the area. This year, just before Eid al-Adha, he bought a majestic bull — white with golden-brown spots. People from the neighborhood came to admire it.
Bwana Shoka laughed and told them:
“This bull isn’t just for sacrifice. It shows I’m the king of this street!”
But as night fell before Eid, something unexpected happened…
The bull escaped.
The whole village searched. Bwana Shoka shouted in anger. “Someone has stolen my bull! I will find them!”
π Eid Morning Surprise
As people prepared for prayers, a boy came running to Bwana Shoka.
“Your bull is tied near Mama Rehema’s house!”
Mama Rehema — a poor, elderly widow — lived humbly, barely affording food. But there the bull stood, calm and unharmed.
Tied next to it was a piece of cardboard with handwritten words:
“Allah gives, Allah takes. This is not theft. This is sacrifice. Share your blessings before they escape you.”
Children were smiling, chewing meat Mama Rehema had prepared. She looked up and said,
“I didn’t take your bull. Maybe it was never yours to begin with.”
π A Change of Heart
Bwana Shoka said nothing. For the first time, he didn’t feel powerful. He felt… small.
The next day, he returned to Mama Rehema’s house — this time holding four goats, bags of rice, and a quiet heart.
“I came to share,” he said softly.
From that Eid on, he became a different man — one who gave instead of boasting. One who loved instead of judging.
π Moral Lessons:
• Don’t let pride blind your blessings.
What you show off today can disappear tomorrow if your heart isn’t clean.
• Eid is for everyone.
Celebration means nothing if your neighbors are hungry.
• Change is possible.
Even the proudest hearts can soften when faced with truth.
• Real sacrifice is ego, not animals.
What Allah loves most is not the meat, but the sincerity behind the giving.

π Eid Mubarak once again!
May this story inspire you to give with love, speak with kindness, and never let pride block your path to goodness.
